I was unable to connect for about 8-10 minutes right around that time…but got no particular message.

Whitehouse and Klobuchar are cosponsors; section 230 didn’t “create the internet” it defined websites as “platforms” rather than “publishers” and thus not liable for the content created by their users, paving the way for Facebook, X, Tik Tok , etc to avoid lawsuits for not policing misinformation on their sites.

      Abolishing section 230 isn’t a black/white good/bad thing…it depends on what replaces it.

I don’t understand why they don’t just amend it to exclude algorithmically provided content. If you sing up actively to follow/ or friend someone then they are treated like a a platform. If they are pulling content from people you don’t know and putting it in front of you. then they are liable for the content.

Should the Democratic congresspersons cooperate with the vandals in any way whatsoever?

Great turnout today in Denver for AOC & Bernie. Estimates were around ~30,000 folks coming out but honestly it seemed like more to me. People started showing up 2-3 hours beforehand.

This is what grassroots look like. Large rallies get attention. Dems should leverage this sort of thing. It’s one thing to see town halls with a hundred or so protesting (and this should keep happening of course) but showing crowds of tens of thousands protesting hits harder and better IMO.

Go figure, I had tech problems again. The audio is all there. The video kicks in before the 3 minute mark.
No excuse, but my main computer appears to have died. (Less than 2 yr old good Lenovo laptop, grr). The backup is having problems now too..

Coming hot on the heels of the president bullying noted law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP to accede to his demands in return for rescinding an executive order directed at the firm, Trump’s White House issued a memo directing Secretary of Homeland Security L Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi to use the full force of their respective departments to pursue lawyers and law firms for supposed “Abuses of the Legal System and the Federal Court.”

Nice going Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP – your strong backbone is amazing.

it will all be up to Chief Justice SCOTUS Roberts’ court soon – whether by accident or by design, to reign in the 34-count convicted felon. I have little confidence the rulings will favor American democracy.

Guess who used capitalism as their economic engine by letting corporations and vulture capitalists ride the backs of desperate every citizens. Sounds like Roberts and his 2010+ rulings, doesn’t it?

The above describes 1930/40s Germany with a maniac fascist authoritarian as its leader.

Coincidence? I think not! History repeats itself.

The following is a list of the probes of the various state of Maine entities since Governor Janet Mills’ clash with Trump at the National Governors Association winter summit on February 21, 2025. It’s been one attack after another on Maine since the clash when Governor Mills told Trump that “We’ll see you in court” referring to the Maine Human Rights Act, which was amended in 2021 to include gender identity as a protected class against discrimination.

Trump and his hand-selected henchmens’ viciousness knows no bounds. So much for states’ rights.

Trump special envoy, Steve Witkoff argued that it “doesn’t matter” whether or not Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to take over Europe.

“…The real issue here, the agenda set forth by President Trump, he is my boss. And I adhere to that fact that the agenda is stop the killing, stop the carnage. Let’s end this thing…”

it “doesn’t matter” if Putin takes over Europe, as long as Putin’s agenda is “stop the killing, stop the carnage.” It’s so reassuring that Trump has a red line. Trump must think that Putin can take Europe, peacefully.

Trump and Putin are probably discussing this right now, back channel.
Trump: “We get Canada, Greenland, you get Europe. China gets Taiwan.”

Usha Vance will visit Greenland…Thursday to see “historical sites, learn about Greenlandic heritage, and attend…Greenland’s national dogsled race,”…National Security Adviser Mike Waltz will tour a US military base while there and that Energy Secretary Chris Wright also is scheduled to go.

A visit from the second lady of the U.S. to “historical sites, learn about Greenlandic heritage, and attend…Greenland’s national dogsled race,” requires a National Security Adviser.
