Meet Deputy Attorney General Robert Gibbs

I guess, in addition to President Rahm Emanuel and Attorney General Lindsey Graham, Deputy Attorney General Robert Gibbs sees the wisdom in putting aside rule of law for political expediency.

Some policy advisers have wondered why the administration’s flack is so often in attendance, but insiders fluent in the administration’s power dynamics know Obama values his views. According to one administration official, who would not be quoted speaking about internal White House discussions, Gibbs late last year pointed out the political perils of letting the Justice Department try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a civilian court and has urged the president to ignore Wall Street critics who argue Obama has adopted too populist a tone when speaking out against executive bonuses. [my emphasis]

You know, when Karl Rove unacceptably took over DOJ, he did so to support world domination. He had a plan.

But apparently we’ve decided to shred the Constitution for no other reason than a press flack thinks it would be smart.

I still hold out hope that Holder will prevail -and we will see KSM tried on Governor’s Island by our civilian judiciary – ( this was originally Col Patrick Lang’s very good idea )

Don’t you know? Freedom schmeedom, spite rights. Marketing rules. Fight with sound bites.

Sorry, I’m still ticked about the Passaro Case.

If only O would listen to Col. Lang.

I am truly stunned that the office of the President of the United States has become nothing more than a front for the power brokers who run our government from behind the cardboard picture of “the president“–we have another George W. Bush scenario: Obama stands in front of the crowds, acts big and speaks as though he has real opinions, but Rahm, Geithner, Rubin, Orszag, Gibbs, and the military areactually running our country. Obama has proven that he is a weak, know-nothing who has to raise his hand to ask permission to leave the room!

We are fools who have elected the Wizard of Oz, but the curtain was immediately pulled aside and we are left breathless by the game that has been played on us. We are going to be further screwed with the next SCOTUS nominee and our country will become another Czarist Russia with the Cossaks of Wall Street beating down the peasants–who are us, folks. We will be left starving in the streets without food or shelter until we overthrow the fat cats who are feeding off us. We need to get rid of them NOW, starting with Obama. We need to take back our rights and our government. WE need to organize and do all we can to push the filth out and start anew.

    Also from the same article:
“Later this month, representatives of various news organizations will meet with Gibbs to express what they feel is the administration’s contempt for the press.”
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

That is not what I see. Gibbs, as required of him, shares his masters’ concern for Obama’s re-election to the exclusion of all other considerations. Those are rather cncrete reasons, which also imply what has to be done: Obama incumbency is the issue for him; it has to be the issue for us.

Interesting, however, that Gibbs – unlike Obama – does not seem to have a clear grasp of the importance of Wall Street support for 2012…

Yea, Kissinger shared a similar level of concern for Nixon’s elections in 1968 and ’72.

Like fvcking hell it does. If he wants to keep pissing on us and have us pretend it’s rainin, he’s on his own.
