just back from silver lake rec center. 20 minutes in and out. three precincts in the room, steady flow of voters. lots of smiles.
the supermarket after however…holy crap. it was like the day before thanksgiving. they had to keep opening up checkout stands. i’m guessing a combo of shopping for victory parties and communal stress eating.
arrived home to find my housepainter jose back at work, having taken the morning off to vote for the first time ever. he just became a citizen six weeks ago. his beaming smile the biggest of all.
