Palin Family Values: No Relationship of Trust with Her Family?!?!?

Yeah, I know. Someone on McCain’s team called Sarah Palin a diva. But I’m much more intrigued that that McCain adviser said Sarah "does not have any relationships of trust with … her family."

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

Is this person honestly suggesting that Palin doesn’t have a relationship of trust with Todd Wormtongue? That he stalked Mike Wooten for two years–purportedly out of concern for her safety and the safety of her sister–but she doesn’t trust him? That she allows him to sit in on all of her cabinet meetings, not to mention her debate prep sessions? That she’s lugged her family around to so many campaign meetings it has made McCain’s people squirmy? That Todd submitted a potentially false deposition to Stephen Branchflower to downplay the degree to which he, Todd Palin, was orchestrating the pressure on Walt Monegan?  That Todd and she gave the personnel board investigator a sworn deposition yesterday, together? But she doesn’t trust him?!?!?!?!

Man. Circular firing squad is fun and all, but that’s just creepy.

It would fit. As Josh over at TPM has said, she is all about herself and her ambition. She’s been known to throw former mentors under the bus when they are no longer useful. I am sure she is pissed too at McCain for not letting her do her thing. She obviously hates losing.

She is shooting for the position of host of some T.V. or radio talk show. A multi-million dollar contract “I betcha”. Someone has had to tell her she is over. Last night on Hardball Christopher Hitchens said she is not “capable of being Governor of Alaska either”

Damn it is frightening when the war hawks like Christopher Hitchens, Adelman etc start jumping on the OBama bandwagon. Scary to think Dennis Ross has been in there being an advisor on the middle east. Why not Jimmy Carter, Norman Finkelstein or Flynt Leverett or all three. With Dennis Ross advising it could be all about here we come Iran.

I think Ross almost signed every letter and document at PNAC

Another aspect of why Palin isn’t trusted by an important part of the American electorate is because her ties to radical evangelicals, and the scary stuff happening outside of or at her campaign events, scares the heck out of a lot of Jews.

Obama has had to work very hard to gain the trust of the American Jewish community at large, but Palin’s presence on the GOP ticket sealed the deal between Obama and the Dems, like he never could have, without her presence.

Obama isn’t about to make any announcements of potential appointments, or seek pre-election endorsements from anyone, like Carter or Finkelstein, for instance, who would alienate American Jews who are liberal, but are strong supporters of militant Israeli expansion policies.

I was interested that the link you posted said that Palin was “wasting her time” in Iowa – she may be wasting McCain’s time, but apparently she came out in support of ethanol subsidies, contrary to McCain’s longtime position. Is it possible that she is looking to get Huckabee’s voters for 2012 already!!!

      • EdwardTeller says:

She does love corn. You’ve raised a good point. She’s tailing Romney and Huckabee in 2012 GOP polling.

also – EW – I can’t find a link to Sarah and Todd deposing together yesterday. The AP account gives them successive appointments – Todd, then Sarah.

      • EdwardTeller says:

I have been too. Palin has been giving McCain looks that remind me of Tonya Harding eying Nancy Kerrigan, in the days before Joe the batterer took after Kerrigan’s kneecap. If I were McCain, I’d keep out of the same room with Todd until the election is over.

Argh–saw that. They did better than I expected.

I’m just hoping all the shitty ass drivers get out of my town and go back to Lansing or whereever they came from.

Can’t go anywhere on game day.
Besides, the more interesting game comes later this evening.

Wonder what’s going on behind the scenes with THAT comment. The possibilities are rich.

Some ideas: 1) Usually this is code in the “counselling” world for someone having an affair.

    2) Or there is a real jealousy issue involved…with one partner not trusting the other to be out of contact. So perhaps Todd doesn’t trust Sarah with other men…including lecherous John. Or Sarah doesn’t trust Todd around Michele “Bachmann Hormones Overdrive”?

    3) Sarah is a power-freak, willing to thrown her nearest kin under the bus if it advances her God-calling. Notice how she tossed her eldest daughter into the public eye “She’s pregnant!
Trig can’t be HER BABY!…Now leave my family ALONE! They shouldn’t be in the public eye!”
Yeah…she kept to that “family privacy” thing real well.

    4) She and Todd are having “leadership” problems. Perhaps he should go back to the church and get them to tell her that she should obey her “man”…or submit to a public switching. Tickets $2500…payable to the RNC “Palin 2012″ Fund.

    4)

being canadian is gonna hurt them a lot more than it hurts me, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make

sure, I’d be willing to take a bullet for Canada

          not in the chest

          in the leg maybe …

not only that, but they actually LIKE the french

Wouldn’t be so sure about that. Now that Sarko is doing his best fascist imitation, some of us who haven’t voted for Harper, are not such Francophiles anymore.

we’re supposed to do that first, ya know …

now I bet you’re glad you didn’t get that law degree, huh ew ???

    Hi Marcy.

    But she doesn’t trust him?!?!?!?!

Sarah looks like a world class manipulator. She’s using everyone around her as a prop. She just doesn’t fucking care about anything but her dream to be in Washington, with the big boys…

  7. perris says:

which he, Todd Palin, was orchestrating the pressure on Walt Monegan? That Todd and she gave the personnel board investigator a sworn deposition yesterday, together? But she doesn’t trust him?!?!?!?!

    this is a shocker?

I believe todd was having an affair and that’s what caused the trooper gate scandal in the first place

do not forget, todd is responsible for most of the problems palin is having and she blames her failure on him with no doubt

    to wit;

with no todd, no trooper gate

with no todd, not abuse of office by family

with no todd, no uncomfortable meetings with mccain

and with no todd, she gets to decide for herself

this is probably the first time in her life she’s being courted by men of substantial power and means, that makes todd MUCH less “alpha” then when they were in kansis alaska

todd is now an albatross around her neck and she doesn’t realize it’s her moronic responses as much as it’s todd.

never the less, I see a “parting of ways” if when they lose the election

todd also now has far more options then before palin was nominated, he’s got 15 minutes of fame and by gosh, he’s gonna get him some yunguns

    this is how it goes

however they still control plenty of election machines, there are plenty already flipping votes and they are definately going to be more discreet in early voting then during the election

hang on to hats, I believe this is not in the bag no matter HOW many people vote for obama

  8. radiofreewill says:

I’m guessing that the Truth of the Troopergate Investigation(s) – that Sarah and Todd used her Power as Governor to further her personal, family vendetta against her former brother-in-law, Wooten – is now known to Sarah and McSame.

If so, then they are presently scrambling to position themselves for her inevitable withdrawal/release early next week. It’s just a guess…

McCain will say that she’s a Maverick-Gone-Bad, a Rogue – who hid the truth about her culpability in Troopergate from his staff during the ‘vetting.’

Sarah will say that she was ‘poorly served’ by an Over-Zealous Campaign, just like she’ll say that she was ‘poorly served’ by her Over-Zealous Husband in Troopergate – How can it be her fault, if all these people are just too eager to please her?

McCain will then replace Sarah with either Lieberman or Huckleberry, and barely get the Wreck of the Republican Party to Election Day.

Sarah will go home, get Impeached, and turn-up on the Televangelist Circuit – where she’ll coach others to be ‘better servants’ as 2012 approaches.

    It could happen…

  9. TheraP says:

Late to this party here. But if she lacks trusting relationships, then you’re talking manipulation and using people.

Most people have viewed SP as narcissistic. When you stretch narcissism to its limit you reach sociopathy. She’s somewhere on that continuum. One thing about sociopaths (and many narcissists) is a superficiality of relationships. Lack of empathy. Need to be admired. Able to quickly connect with people (through reading them for purposes of gaining attention). But not able to “sustain” deep relationships. Superficial. Focused on appearances.

I was honestly dumbfounded to read what you pointed out. And I did the same in several places yesterday myself. But she seems to be an extremely shallow individual, extremely undeveloped. Insecure. So she may need her family around her, while not really relating. Just feeding on them.
