Still Trying to Read Poppy Bush’s Lips

Am I the only one that finds it especially ironic that Poppy Bush endorsed McCain one day after McCain came out with a "no new taxes" pledge? If the timing was unintentional, I’d consider it a rather inauspicious coincidence if I were McCain.

It was the first thing I thought of when I read Old Lord McCain’s no-new-taxes pledge yesterday, emptywheel. Not a coincidence, and a wonderful reminder to The Base that GOP mavericks and moderates lie.

Of course, both David Gergen and Pat Buchanan have said that GHWB’s endorsement of McCain will help him with conservatives, so up must be down.

Grover should be sooooo happy; he’s been holding his ATR blessing up in the air until the Repug candidate rolled over and played dead at his feet.

Watch as each of the state organizations sync up with Grover — like Michigan Taxpayers Association, Taxpayers Association of Oregon, and all the other Norquistian outfits that collaborate under the State Policy Network.

1000 years of war, AND a disasterous economic policy to boot, what’s not to like ???

vote mccain, and grind America into the dust

and while we’re on an “election” topic, I got a question:

How many toes did hillary clinton have before she ran for president ???

I lost count of how many toes she’s shot off already, and then she drops this masterpiece:

A co-chairman of Hillary’s Michigan campaign and has a line that’s sure to drive a whole bunch of red state governors up the wall:

“Superdelegates are not second-class delegates,” says Joel Ferguson, who will be a superdelegate if Michigan is seated. “The real second-class delegates are the delegates that are picked in red-state caucuses that are never going to vote Democratic.”

two weeks BEFORE Texas and Ohio got to the polls, hillary has effectivly told the voters of those States that they are choosing “SECOND CLASS DELEGATES”

as somebody at politico pointed out:

Hillary is ready to surrender the red states on day one

    she’s not a candidate, she’s a fucking centipied

      No Newt Axis!

would “newt-on-a-stick” violate that pledge ???

      what, too cerebral ???

how do you cook em ???

Did anyone else notice how MsnBc aired all of Obama’s speech several days ago and cut Hillary’s in half? Fair and balanced…in your dreams.

    wanna hear another whopper ???

there is prescedent for mccain to avoid campaigning with bush cuz back in 1988 bush senor didn’t have ronnie raygun out campaigning for bush all the time

I guess the repuglitards forget the fact that ronnie raygun was a fucking vegetable in 1988 (if they put ronnie’s crazy ass on a stage campaigning for bush in 1988 dukakis might have won)

the repuglitards WISH presnit george was a vegetable

we felt sorry for ronnie raygun (well, some of us did)

presnit george ain’t gonna enjoy any such sympathy

better still, the stupid-crazy little fucker ain’t gonna like being criticized, and he’s gonna be trying to defend himself

gonna be fun watching mccain try to distance himself from a small-minded vengeful narrcistic little prick with the biggest microphone on the planet

good luck with that senator, let me know how it works out

What was he doing in a movie theater, emptywheel?
Perfect place to meet up with Someone in secret?
Or, much more likely, well, let’s see the President’s been shot, guess I’ll take in a movie this afternoon.

    What do you think?

Is it “No New Taxes” Week?
Ahrnold ’s lips are saying the same thing.

“I will not raise taxes on the people of California because they are already paying enough taxes,” Schwarzenegger said last month as he unveiled his plans to attack a potential $14.5 billion budget gap.

Ahrnold has a secret plan. He is going to bamboozle the public. He will say “No new taxes” and then he will trick us by raising “fees”.

Yet, by substituting fees in lieu of taxes, Schwarzenegger proposes to reach into the pockets of motorists, disabled Medi-Cal recipients and homeowners for at least $761.5 million.

    Who says words don’t matter?

Don’t worry about Poppy busting a gut for Jesus H. Christ McCain, he is
too lazy and self centered being worshipped in Texas ( he’s one of them
bluebloods that just wants to be reglur Texican like usins), they are
all on life support, their epoch is ending, St.John is another Dole,
    making room for Jebbie.
