One point I didn’t make clear. Judy handed over notes yesterday, so we know notes were taken. But under work for hire guidelines, under ordinary circumstance, the NYT would own those notes. But they’ve been saying for a year they have nothing on the matter. Which means either NYT has been lying, or there’s a reason they don’t own those notes. Which I think unlikely if the meeting really WAS about WMDs.

By far the most interest letter is the one from Libby to Miller. It closes with what to me sounds like it may be a THREAT:

Anyway, read that letter, and all the correspondence. It’s fascinating!
Or Judy lied to the NYT. Or got mixed up, or forgot about the notes until she really had time to think about all this while in prison. (Oh, THOSE notes! How could I have forgotten!?)
Actually, I find the WMD story somewhat plausible only because of Scooter’s major involvement in cooking the intel about WMD. Scooter fed her a lot of those scoops, I think. Scooter was at the end of the stovepipe that went to Cheney. And, of course, uranium in Niger was a material part of the WMD case, along with the aluminum tubes. In fact, those were the only physical evidence, as oposed to what the alleged defectors said. And Libby can’t have known or cared about the status of Judy’s notes, could he?
Maybe that wasn’t the telegraphed part. Maybe that was that he only learned about Plame between the two conversations. It wasn’t something he had picked up himself while visiting the CIA to pressure WMD analysts. Someone else told him between 7/8 and 7/12.
